TOUR TO ERG CHIGAGA

3-Day Tour

DAY 1:

(Depending on the time and day of arrival)

  1. Pick-up at Marrakech airport.
  2. Visiting emblematic places in the city such as Jemaa el Fna square, Market, Medina, etc.
  3. Transfer to the accommodation.

DAY 2:

      • Breakfast and early departure in the morning towards the Erg Chigaga Desert. During the journey, we will go through the Tizi-N-Tichka, the highest road in North Africa at 2260 meters high.
      • We will stop at Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, one of the best-preserved kasbahs in all of Morocco, a fortified clay and stone structure declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also well-known for being a famous filming location for many movies. Next, we will visit the city of Ouarzazate, known as the Gateway to the Moroccan Desert and home to the largest film studio in the country.
      • The last stop before arriving will be in Agdz, a city located 70 km from Ouarzazate and surrounded by a wonderful natural landscape. One of the most characteristic spaces is the Community Gardens where the local population has gardens, palm trees, and native plants.
      • Finally, we will go through Zagora and arrive at the Erg Chigaga Desert, where we can ride camels through the dunes and watch the sunset before sleeping in a typical Haima while listening to the sound of ancestral songs and traditional instruments like the Tbilat or Qarqaba.
      • Contemplating the desert sky at night becomes an unforgettable experience.

DAY 3:

  • For the early risers, there is the spectacle of sunrise. We will have breakfast and depart towards Uarzazat, where we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah.
  • This Kasbah is a clay castle located in front of the city’s film studios.
  • We can stroll through its interior, observing all the details and colours that make it so magnificent. After lunch, we will set off back to Marrakech to end the tour.*Included: airport transfers, private vehicle with driver and guide, accommodation with breakfast, guided visits with explanation. Dinner in the desert is also included.

    *Not included: lunch and dinner, admission to museums and other paid tourist sites.
